Biodiversity Heritage Library
Através da Biodiversity Heritage Library, como resultado de esforços da EOL (Encyclopedia of Life), estão disponíveis vários arquivos em pdf que poderão ser acessados gratuitamente.
Was presented yesterday the Biodiversity Heritage Library. This is part of the Encyclopedia Of Life (EOL) effort and perhaps the most useful component of that project for systematists. A relatively recent option allows you to download PDFs of items, or part of items, that are available through that site (www.biodiversitylibrary.org <http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/>).
They are still uploading publications and have hundreds of thousands more to go to achieve their goal of including all monographs and serials through 1922. There are, however, already many publications available useful to anyone working on tropical freshwater fishes who lacks access to the originals. I have not tried to do so, but it appears you can download the PDF of massive publications such as Eigenmann's Freshwater Fishes of British Guiana.
The aim of the project is to eventually include all primary literature through 1922 at which point copyright restrictions come into effect.
